After her disappearance, a twitter user tweeted that Rivera’s post of her and son, Josey, with the caption, “Just the two of us” could be more than a coincidence, implying that there could be more to the tragic event.
The user @sullybitch shared the lyrics of the song, “Just the two of us” by Eminem which was about a mother drowning but assuring her son that it’d be alright.
The tweet sparked outrage and twitter users asked the handle to take the post down, saying it was disrespectful.
They said she could have been referring to Will Smith’s “Just the two of us” song.
The tweet is no longer available but here’s a screenshot:
Rivera is presumed dead after she rented the pontoon boat around 1 p.m. Wednesday with her 4-year-old son, Josey, according to Ventura County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Capt. Eric Buschow.
On Saturday, Naya Rivera’s mother broke down on the banks of Lake Piru, kneeling and throwing her arms wide, with her son Mychal at her side.
Mother and son wore life vests and boarded a boat to help with the search for the body, TMZ reported.
The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office said it believes the actress accidentally drowned in the lake, about 56 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles.
“We don’t know if she’s going to be found five minutes from now or five days from now, so we’re still going to be continuing this effort,” said Capt. Eric Buschow, Ventura County Sheriff’s Office spokesman, CNN reported.
Before the boating incident, Rivera shared her excitement with fans on Instagram on joining the Starz family in a new series, “Step Up” and that she couldn’t wait to begin filming.
